Seven UT cops transferred

Sukhpal Rana, who only a few months ago was made the SHO of Sector 39 police station, has been shifted to the VIP security. Rana has been replaced by Chambel Singh, who was with the traffic wing. Inspector Sahib Singh has been shifted from the VIP security to the traffic wing.

Incidentally, some of the officers shifted today had been transferred only recently.

A police official, when contacted, said some of the previous transfers were done 8220;by mistake8221;. 8220;Some of the inspectors were posted as SHOs immediately after their promotions, while one has to put in two years of work at a posting where there is no public dealing, before being posted as SHO,8221; he added.
