
CHANDIGARH, FEB 28: All laboratories of the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation were thrown open to the public to mark the National Science Day today. About 400 persons, mostly students, visited the institute.
An open quiz competition on information technology was also organised on the occasion. Later, speaking on Popular Science, INSA senior scientist, Dr D.V.S. Jain said that science can flourish only if scientists get proper recognition in society. He stressed upon the need for providing better facilities, infrastructure and challenging career opportunities for them. He pointed out that immense talent exists in the country and it needed to be synergised. The significance of the National Science Day, observed to commemorate the achievements of noted scientist C.V. Raman, was highlighted by CSIO Director, Prof S. Mohan.
