Floorball: Delhi,Uttarakhand win

DELHI defeated hosts Uttar Pradesh 1-0 while Uttarakhand beat UP 2-1 in the women’s and men’s section finals,respectively to bag the top honours in the National Floorball Federation Cup-2009 held at City Montessori School,Gomtinagar,Lucknow on Thursday. In the men’s section semis,Uttarakhand had outclassed Delhi while UP had defeated Jharkhand,informed the organisers. Earlier,hosts Uttar Pradesh defeated Punjab 4-1 in the inaugural match.

In the other men’s section league matches held during the day,Uttarakhand beat Jharkhand 4-1,Jharkhand outclassed Chhattisgarh 5-0 while Delhi beat Uttar Pradesh 1-0.

In the women’s section matches,Uttar Pradesh beat Jharkhand 1-0 while Delhi beat Jharkhand 2-0 in extra time through penalty stroke method in extra time time as no decision during the regular time period.
