Panchayat system has collapsed: Biman

CPM leader Biman Bose on Tuesday said the Panchayat system in the state has collapsed. “No panchayat is working at present. In several panchayats won by the Left parties ,Trinamool men,who are outsiders and not even elected members of the panchayats,sit at panchayat offices. They threaten the Panchayat Pradhans and stop panchayats from functioning,” said Bose. According to him,several complaints have been lodged with the local BDOs and police mentioning how outsiders have taken control over the panchayat office. “But every time,panchayat members are advised to adjust and compromise,” added Bose.
