Twenty-two schools run by Sikh,Christian and Muslim educational organisations on Wednesday launched ‘The Forum of Minority Schools’.
“The forum will focus on working towards administrative and financial autonomy of minority-run schools, that is being blocked due to government interference,” said V K Williams,President of TFMS. “A major step in this direction would be to ask the government to delink minority run schools from privately run schools with regard to administrative and financial controls,” he added.
The forum will also act as a common platform, facilitating exchange of human resources, expertise, faculty and infrastructure among minority institutions.
Williams also said that the forum would try to introduce CBSE curriculum in the Muslim minority schools.
St Stephen’s College Principal Valson Thampu was the guest of honour at the event with CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi and members of the Delhi Minorities commission as special guests.
