One hotel chain is offering an innovative deal for single parents travelling with children. At Jaypee Residency Manor at Barlowganj,Mussorie,and Jaypee Palace,Agra,they can choose from two holiday packages. A Standard Leisure package deal for 1 night/2 days is priced at Rs 10,000 (plus tax) and Leisure Executive for 2 nights/3 days comes for Rs 18,999 (plus tax).

Up to two children can accompany their parent.

We were prompted to introduce this deal after seeing a regular frequency of mothers coming to our hotels for a holiday with their kids,while their husbands were busy at work, says SM Azmat,Joint President (Sales and Marketing),Jaypee Hotels.

Both hotels,he adds,have been designed so that single parents and their children can enjoy without stepping outdoors. At Jaypee Residency Manor,we have a Leisure Mall that houses a bowling alley,an electronic games counter and a skating ring. While the children are busy in the playrooms,parents can avail themselves of spa packages at Sansha, says Azmat,adding that it is mostly Indian women who travel singly with children as the fathers seem to be busy at work. We never get single fathers on holiday only with junior. Foreigners,too,rarely travel with children. So,it is mostly Indian mothers who make up our single parent category, he says. Once we get a booking from a single parent,we inform the staff to be extra vigilant. There is also a team that can baby sit, he says. The charges for baby sitting are about Rs 500 an hour.
