This winter floral accents,slim fits and layered clothing rules

There’s a nip in the air that’s hard to miss. Taking cue,apparel brands have gone into overdrive getting appropriate wear on the shelves. This Wednesday saw Numero Uno announce the arrival of its autumn-winter collection at their store in Sector 17. Showcasing the new arrivals were city-based models who dressed up in the new gear while the brand’s all-India manager (retail) Shruti Khaneja discussed the trends at hand. “As you’ll notice,this season we are celebrating colour. No longer is it a brown meets khaki and olive story,” quipped Khaneja as the models strutted in smart casuals. “We now have a range of super premium Espania denims,created by using technology,sourced from Jeanologia,Spain. The fit is very slim and figure accentuating,” explained Khaneja who mentions that this time around the theme board boasts of very British influences. The collection for men is broadly influenced by the return of the basics with cleaner cuts and smart bodies keeping international trends in mind. “We have experimented with new features such as shirt jackets,collarless shirts,cut and sew-in jackets and ombray effect on flat knits,” she explains as we notice zippered jackets in twill with embroidery at the back along with tweed jackets in anthra plain and houndstooth. Also on offer are stylized denims for men in premium fabrics with innovative washes and renewed techniques available in straight and skinny fits. “Unlike what was the norm some winters ago,colour is at play along with layering look. We have layered shirts under jackets and like which are actually one-piece garments,” Khaneja goes on to explain.

The style story for the ladies continues with fluorescent checks in dresses and ‘A’ line cuts for jackets. On offer are interesting funnel-neck short jackets in twill fabric in red,granite and coffee colours. With concept dressing in vogue,the brand also offers long three-in-one jackets for women with an option of wearing it sleeveless or just like a shrug! As far as denims go,the women’s line has glamourous accents on premium fabrics with metallic trims,crystals,gold foil and lurex embroideries. Available in skinny,straight and slim boot fits.
