His career, spanning over two decades, showcases remarkable versatility and a commitment to diverse roles. A recipient of numerous accolades including two National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South, and five Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Suriya's contributions have cemented his place in the industry's pantheon. His breakthrough came with Nandhaa (2001), followed by the commercially successful thriller Kaakha Kaakha (2003). Critically acclaimed performances in Pithamagan (2003) and Perazhagan (2004) showcased his range. The 2005 blockbuster Ghajini, where he portrayed a man with anterograde amnesia, further solidified his position. The dual roles in Vaaranam Aayiram (2008) established him as a versatile performer, capable of handling both action and emotional depth. His action star persona was strengthened through roles in Ayan (2009) and the Singam trilogy. He also ventured into science fiction with 7aum Arivu (2011) and 24 (2016).
