The UPSC CSE prelims cut-off has been on the decline since 2016. In 2016, the cut-off for the unreserved category was 116 marks out of 200 which declined to 105 in 2017 and 98 marks in 2018. The trend is expected to reverse and the cut-off is likely to rise again. Experts believe the cut-off this year will be over 100 marks.

Mathematics to be considered among one of the 'best of four' for admissions to BA (hon) Economics and for admission to BCom courses one needs to secure at least 50 per cent in class 12 mathematics. Earlier, one only needed to pass in the subject for admission to both the courses. Parents and students claim that this would drop their percentage and reduce the chances of admission.

DU admissions 2019: To allow enough time to students to make changes in the DU application form, the CBSE re-evaluation result for class 12 will be declared in the June first week. CBSE had also written a letter to DU to adjust their admission dates accordingly thus the DU admissions were delayed.
