A TMC worker and three BJP workers were injured in separate incidents of violence on Sunday, two days before the third phase of the ongoing Assembly elections.
Without taking any name, Mamata claimed that the saffron party has engaged "two Muslim leaders" to divide the minority vote share in West Bengal.
Responding to PM Modi's comments, sources in the TMC said, “The question of Mamata Banerjee fighting from any other seat does not arise. She is winning Nandigram comfortably."
The Election Commission (EC) received 1,605 complaints. At least 28 people were arrested and several others detained as a preventive measure.

While releasing the party manifesto last week, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said: “Those who honestly want to defeat the BJP, vote for us. Do not waste your vote by casting it in favour of the CPM.”
The manifesto, titled “Banglar Disha [Direction for Bengal]”, was released by state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. It contains promises on matters such as law and order, health, education, and arts and culture.
“The BJP has made a false promise of free ration. They will never fulfil it. BJP goons will come to your house and will seek votes. Be ready with household utensils to chase away such people if they try to force you or threaten you,” Banerjee said at a rally in Bankura district.
Kanthi MP Sisir Adhikari joined the saffron party in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a rally in Egra in Purba Medinipur district.
On the other hand, the BJP on Friday made multiple representations before the EC seeking deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) inside polling booths with the added mandate of voter ID verification, citing instances of violence in the state.
According to eyewitnesses, Guchait bought a ticket for the zoo and wandered around before stopping in front of the lion enclosure. At 11 am, Guchait scaled the enclosure wall and jumped over two mesh fences.

The development comes a day after CBI on Monday questioned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC youth wing president Abhishek Banerjee’s brother-in-law and his father in connection with a coal pilferage case.
