It was a question of a missing conjunction. A message from the Press Information Bureau on Monday morning invited journalists to an event where MIB Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Chinese Information Minister Jacky Chan were to be present. Journalists were still wondering about the interestingly named Chinese Information Minister when another message clarified that the MIB,Chinese Information Minister and Jackie Chan the actor were to be present at the event.

RAP ON KNUCKLES

THE National Investigation Agency NIA has been rapped by the Home Ministry for being adventurous and not following procedures while reporting to it on routine matters. The agency,set up in the aftermath of 2008 Mumbai attacks,reports to the Internal Security IS division of the MHA. The IS division also gives it financial and administrative sanctions. Of late,however,it was noticed that senior IPS officers of the NIA were circumventing the line of communication and reaching out directly to other divisions of the MHA without keeping the IS division in the loop. An irked MHA is learnt to have sent a reminder to the NIA asking it to stick to proper channel and route all their matters and queries through the IS division only.

GIRIRAJ Singh,one of BJPs ministers in Nitish Kumar government who got sacked,is trying to tell his party leaders that he had been right all along. Singh used to be the only BJP minister to attack Nitish whenever the Bihar chief minister said anything adverse against Gujarat or Narendra Modi. Having just returned from Somnath,he met a few central leaders who are in Patna ahead for the BJPs protest in the state against Nitish. Ravi Shankar Prasad and Shahnawaz Hussain happened to ask him what prasaad he had brought from Somnath. Woh to kal hi mil gaya we already got it yesterday, Singh quipped,reminding his colleagues how his prayers at Somnath temple had already been answered.
