Let me entertain you
Not to be outdone, DMK president M Karunanidhi, in his party manifesto, promised free colour television sets for all poor households so that the 8220;woman can be entertained8221;.
Phoney offer? But the man making all the news is AIFB candidate P N Ammavasi who has his own glitzy list: Free mobile phones for each household, free cycles, free lifetime incoming calls and 20 kg of free rice, that too home delivered. Ammavasi has even promised set-top boxes along with his free colour TVs. His voters in Madurai8217;s Sholavandan are perplexed. They are not sure whether Ammavasi was making the offers because he is sure to lose or to just mock his seniors8217; attempts to outdo each other with their freebies.
