NASHIK, JAN 13: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Prataprao Bhosale has said his party will bring about organisational changes and focus on bridging internal differences to consolidate its position ahead of the state Assembly polls.Talking to mediapersons at an iftar party hosted by a local Congressman on Tuesday, Bhosale said he believed the electorate was ``fed up'' of the saffron parties and would vote the Congress into power the next time around.Similar sentiments prevailed in other parts of the country too, he claimed, pointing to the party's improved performance in the recent Assembly polls in four states. Results of the recent elections to Zilla Parishads and panchayat samitis in Maharashtra had also indicated a voter preference for the Congress, Bhosale added. As for the party high command's decision to give preferential treatment to women and backward communities in party affairs, he said it would make the party stronger. On the attacks on Christians in the tribal village of Sadadpada in Peth taluka, he said it was the state government's responsibility to protect minorities. He said the Congress would intensify the series of agitations against the Manohar Joshi government through the year.
