NEW DELHI, July 21: The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to provide options for Maths students at the senior school level from this session.

The revised syllabus to be introduced in Class XI will be divided into three parts. Part A will be compulsory for all students and will carry 70 per cent weightage. Students will have the option to select either part B or C, both of which will carry 30 per cent weightage. Part B will be for students wanting to pursue sciences, while Part C will be for those with a bent towards Commerce.

Informatics Practices has also been introduced as a new elective subject from this academic session. This subject will be based on computer software packages.
