BANGALORE, JANUARY 25: Indian Telephone Industries made an average Jagatjit Cotton Textiles team look outstanding as they went down 1-3 in their National Football League match at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Wednesday.

ITI that went into lead when a move along the right in the 28th minute was followed by a melee inside the box, and George Iekeh, with his back to the goal, turned and shot within the left post.

Four minutes before the break came the JCT equaliser. Sangha was let through and he made no mistake with a fierce grounder. Ram Pal scored the second goal, having received a grounder from Jaswinder on the right.

The final goal came in the 74th minute. Gill, having worked his way into the ITI half, lobbed to an unmarked Hardip Singh, who was perhaps lucky not to be declared off-side. Hardip ran up to the goal, dribbled around Balaji, and shot home.

Churchill up
