Ninety salt traders held in Capital
In a major crackdown after rumours of salt shortage and panic buying in the Capital, nearly 90 traders, including wholesalers and retailers, have been arrested for allegedly selling the commodity at exhorbitant prices and hoarding it, even as the central government asserted that there was no shortage and that there were enough stocks available to meet the demand for the next six to eight months.

No-trust move discussed
The Karnataka Assembly today took up for discussion an Opposition-sponsored no-confidence motion against the J. H. Patel Ministry with Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge presenting a 23-point chargesheet. Kharge accused the government of being unresponsive to the people.
