The five BSP MLAs who had allied with RJD here without the permission of the high command have now joined RJD, adding another twist to the saga.
Today four of the rebel MLAs 8212; Mahabali Singh, Rajesh Singh, Chhedilal Ram and F.A. Khan 8212; addressed a letter to Bihar Assembly Speaker Sadanand Singh asking that they be recognised as members of RJD legislature party. A copy of the letter was also given to the Assembly secretary J.P. Pal in the presence of RJD legislators as the Speaker was out of station.
8216;8216;We decided we had to leave the BSP after the party allied with the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. We got round to doing so only now,8217;8217; he said. When asked that they had been induced to join the RJD with ministerial berths, Singh said they had decided that the best way to work for the state was by joining the RJD. MLA F.A. Khan, who also defected from BSP and is out of jail on bail, claimed: 8216;8216;I haven8217;t got any portfolio but I have joined the RJD.8217;8217;
The only MLA out in the cold now is Suresh Passi. 8216;8216;We have tried to contact him but we have been unable to,8217;8217; said Mahabali Singh. The MLAs also admitted that they had been unable to speak to BSP chief Kanshi Ram despite repeated phone calls.
Soon after the BSP allied with the BJP in UP, the five MLAs had withdrawn support to the RJD citing atrocities on Dalits in the state as an excuse.
