Two injured in East Delhi gunfire
NEW DELHI: Two passers-by were injured when two men who run a loaning agency opened fire near Balaji Charitable Hospital in East Delhi on Wednesday. Police said the accused Binny and Aakash opened fired to create panic. They had,earlier in the day,beaten up one Amit Yadav after an argument on repayment of a loan. The victims have been identified as Sunny Singh (25) and Bachcha Lal (24),who was admitted in LN Hospital for bullet injuries in the leg. A case of attempt to murder has been registered, said a senior police officer. The accused are absconding.
Ambedkar Stadium fee reduction to be discussed
New Delhi: The MCD plans to discuss the reduction in the booking charges of Ambedkar Stadium. The charges were increased from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 last year. The Delhi Soccer Association,which regularly holds sports activities in the stadium,has been complaining to the MCD that the 10-fold hike in fees has made it financially unviabale for them hold more events. Congress members Jai Kishan Sharma and Khabinder Singh have placed a proposal before the MCD Standing Committee,saying that the rate should be brought down.
Four arrested for murder
New Delhi: Four persons have been arrested for allegedly murdering a man after an argument a year ago,police said on Wednesday. The accused were arrested on June 6,and the weapon of offence was recovered from them later,they said. Manoj,a resident of Laxmi Park in Nangloi,was stabbed to death by Naddim and three of his accomplices on June 3 after a quarrel that occurred last year.
