TDI case: Protest against bail decision

Mohali: Members of the Bhartiya Kisan Union,Lakhowal,along with the complainants who had moved the court against Taneja Developers and Infrastructure (TDI),on Friday staged a protest outside the district court against the court decision of interim bail to the accused.The complainant Navinpal Singh Saini said,he met Additional District and Sessions Judge Dilbagh Singh Johal and asked him to transfer the case to some other court. Johal assured that he will transfer the case to a sessions court in Rupnagar. Saini also came down heavily on the district police and administration,saying that they are in nexus with the company. However,TDI officials,said that the case had no merit as the complainant made the entire payment and he raised no objection. “Two years later,Saini approached the court as he noticed the slump in the market and could not get a premium on his plot. But we have full faith in the judiciary which will give us justice,” TDI officials added.

BSP appoints 6 secys ahead of elections

Chandigarh: BSP on Friday appointed Ram Sumer Morya as its senior vice-president. Gurmukh Singh has also been appointed as general secretary. As many as six secretaries have been appointed. The appointments have been made in wake of the forthcoming elections.

355 units of blood collected at camp

Chandigarh: As many as 355 units of blood was collected at a blood donation camp organised by Traders Association,Sector 17,Vishwas Foundation and Chandigarh Computers Association. A team of doctors from PGI were present.
