City’s Hardik Trehan’s short film creates quite a winning buzz on Filmaka

Now,what would be a great reason to party? Feeling low,feel like celebrating,feel like dancing,feel like mixing…there are possibly a hundred reasons to party but when it came to Hardik Trehan,he decided to kill the parents and say cheers. “This was my three minute short film,how a psycho finds a reason to party,” Hardik clears the air before anyone snaps the handcuff on him! Apparently,the film got the international jury on the portal filmaka.com notice this odd,crazily one of a kind reason to party (which was their theme for the short film) and shot Hardik,a Class XII Arts student of DAV-15 to the top 20 on the portal’s winning list. It also won him $ 1500! “It wouldn’t have been possible without sittings with my teachers at school,Roshan Lal,and at Frameboxx where I’m currently pursuing a course in animation and visual effects,” Hardik takes the opportunity to thank ML Arora and Vijay Kumar at Frameboxx,and yes,another award-winning filmmaker at the institute Ankur Kaporo for opening the window to Filmaka. Written,directed and enacted by Hardik himself over a period of two weeks,the film’s not the only one the boy’s made. “There were three other titled Let’s Do it,a comedy on how a director finds inspiration to shoot,then Avoid Rash on rash driving and another one – these are on the Indian Filmaka site,” with this,Hardik’s creative genes come alive and that’s when he mentions that all this is because his father encouraged him to take up the course and indulge in the business of filmmaking. “Because he’s into it too….he directed Punjabi film Hashar,” Hardik refers to Catrack’s Gaurav Trehan. Hmmm…things are falling into place! So is he going to follow daddy’s footsteps? “Not exactly,I want to be an actor,” he’s confident that dad will provide for a great launch,and Hardik’s being groomed for same. Acting,dance,directing short films,school plays…the boy’s on a roll!
