
BANGALORE, MAY 20: Seeded players found their bearings to justify their rankings after three days of topsy-turvy results, order was restored in the ITF Wearhouse-Century Club Satellite Tennis Tournament here on Thursday.
Top seed Prahlad Srinath led the triumphant march of seeds when he cut the aspirations of giant killer Shivshankar Kanbargimath 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, en route to the semi-finals. Vinod Sridhar, fourth seed, overcame a fighting Saurav Panja 6-1, 4-6, 6-0, while second seed Artem Derepasko of Russia was leading 5-0 in the first set when his opponent Steven Bourke of Australia threw in the towel. Earlier, unseeded Harsh Mankad too booked his place the last four, with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Ravikiran Bhat.
Srinath will take on Mankad, while Vinod will battle against Derepasko in the semifinals slated for Friday.
In an interesting encounter, the experience of Srinath, the experience of Srinath held him in good stead in the in the one-hour-40 minute battle against Shivshankar. The latter who wasbrimming with confidence after having beaten eighth seed Vijay Kannan in the first round, looked like slamming his opponent by the way he began.

PONDICHERRY: In a day of upsets unseeded Maithri Jaganathan of Karnataka outplayed top seeded Saranya Pattabhi of Tamil Nadu to enter the semi-finals of the girls under-14 event of the Adidas Junior Circuit second leg tennis tournament.
In the boy8217;s under-14, unseeded Somadev K Devvaraman of Tamil Nadu scored an upset victory over fourth seed Sooryacharan of Andhra Pradesh to enter the last four.
While Maithrioutclassed Saranya 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 Devvaraman outplayed Sooryacharan 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Top seed Nandita Chandraseker of Tamil Nadu, second seed Samirtha Seker of Tamil Nadu and fifth seed Nandini Perumal of Andhra Pradesh also entered the last four of the girl8217;s under-16 event winning their quarterfinal matches.

CALCUTTA: Top seed Harshit Sharma played with authority to spank fifth seed Manoj Kumar Sewa and set up a title clash with Vinod Kumar Sewa in the boys under-16 category of the junior tennis circuit meet at the DKS Complex.
In the boys under-14 category, third seed Anshuman Dutta got the better of top seed Divij Sharan 6-2, 6-3 to move into the final where he will meet second seed Samrat Ghosh. Samrat defeated SanjeevMohan 6-1, 6-2 in the other semi-final.
