PUNE, MAY 9: The Mahabharat would now be available on Internet. The website can be found on bombay.oriental.cam.ac.uk. and was developed in collaboration with Cambridge University.

A team comprising researchers from the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute here, along with those from the University of Cambridge in England had worked on the project to bring forth a computerised version of the great Sanskrit epic, a release by BORI here said.

The electronic text is based on the 22-volume critical edition which took nearly half a century to complete, under the editorship of scholars like Dr S K Belvalkar and Dr R N Dandekar.

The computer version would be available in different formats suitable for use in both Indian and Roman scripts.
