Two hostels to remain open

After protests against the closure of hostels from May 20 to June 20,the university has reverted its decision to close all the hostels. Now,like every year,one boys’ and one girls’ hostel will remain open. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the fact that while classes and university examinations may be over,many students still have various competitive examinations,internships and academic projects going on during the vacations.

B R Shejwal,chief rector,UoP,said,“For the last four-five years,the hostels used to remain open through the vacations. But for pest control,we need to keep the rooms shut for some time . Now,we wil have to accomodate the students somehow and try to manage the situation.”
