Piaggio launches cargo four-wheeler

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited unveiled the Ape Mini— a half tonne cargo four-wheele— on Tuesday. The vehicle is priced at Rs 1.73 lakh.

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited unveiled the Ape Mini— a half tonne cargo four-wheele— on Tuesday. The vehicle is priced at Rs 1.73 lakh. Announcing the launch,Ravi Chopra,Chairman & Managing Director of Piaggio India,said,“ Anticipating the customer’s need for a small,classy and comfortable mini truck we conceived the Ape Mini to deliver exceptional value and a superior experience to our customers.”

He said that Ape Mini is a strategic initiative from Piaggio to expand its share of the half-tonne market. Chopra said that the vehicle offers the best mileage,29 km per litre,in its class. “The Ape Mini offers a claimed best in class fuel economy. It has the largest cargo deck in the category. At 230 mm,the ground clearance of the vehicle is the highest in its class,ensuring safe and smooth driving over speedbreakers and the challenging terrain of congested city roads,” Chopra said,adding,“Ape Mini has a spacious car-like cabin with sleek fittings,ample leg room and adjustable sliding bucket seats for greater driving comfort. A factory fitted co-driver’s seat is special to the product.” The company will offer a 15-month warranty and five free services on the product . The product will be backed by Piaggio’s world-class sales and service network of over 760 touch points that provide round the clock service and spares across India.
