Over 17 artistes performed at a programme revisitng the melodies of OP Nayyar at Yashwantrao Chavhan Natyagruha,Kothrud. Held on Sunday,the show featured stringed instruments such as sarangi,satar,santoor,sarod,mandolin,guitars and was organised in honour of Pt Ram Narayan. The musicians who performed at the concert included Sandip Mishra on sarangi,Ramakant Paranjape on violin,Prasad Gondkar on satar,Prashant Salil on santoor,Mihir Samak on mandolin,Mahesh Thakurdesai on sarod,Vishal Thelkar and Vinit Alurkar on guitar,Viju Murti on double bass,Amar Oak on flute,Nandu Belvalkar on harmonica,Sameer Sapre on accordion,Anil Karmarkar on saxophone,Kedar Paranjape,Pratik Rajopadhye on keyboards and Homi Mullan on percussion. The rhythms were led by Keadar More,Sulaxana Phatak,Abhijit Bhade and Chinmay Jog. The vocalists were Shalaja Subramanian,Priyanka Barve,Ali Hussain and Jitendra Bhruk. Pt Ram Narayan was felicitated with a silver trophy and cash donation.

Aayam and Aashay Film club in association with National Film Archive of India are celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema and international womens day with a three-day film festival. Several women-centric films such as Gulabi Gang,the story of an organisation that teaches underprivileged women to defend themselves,Sparsh,the 1980 film directed by Sai Paranjpe and English Vinglish,among others will be featured. The festival will be held from March 8 to 10 at Archive Theatre,Law College Road,Pune.
