PSEB first semester results delayed again

The second semester of Classes X and XII of the Punjab School Education Board started on October 1.

Board vice-chairman says result will be declared on December 4

The second semester of Classes X and XII of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) started on October 1,the board is yet to declare the result of the first semester. Earlier, the board was to declare the result on November 20 but it was postponed to November 29 and now again it has been postponed by a week. According to Suresh Tandon,Vice-Chairman of PSEB,”The result will be declared on December 4 now.”

But delayed in the declaration of result has created a lot of problems for schools. Many parents are not yet aware of the functioning of the semester system. Many students are yet to submit the examination forms of second semester, the last date for which was November 15.

According to Shashi Sharma, principal of a private school,“Many students have neither filled the examination forms for the second semester nor coming to school as they have been waiting for the result of the first semester. The parents of these wards are not ready to fill the examination form of second semester as they fear that if their wards failed in first semester, their examination fee would get wasted. But the board has been delaying the result.”

Another school principal said,“The school studies are also getting affected due to delayed result. As the students are not coming to attend the second semester classes in full strength.”

Meanwhile,Tandon said,“The result has been delayed due to delayed award lists. We have received all the award lists now and have sent these to Delhi as the result is compiled by Delhi after decoding. Hopefully, the result will be declared on December 4.”
