SP: Not answerable to Team Anna

Ram Gopal Yadav said that neither Hazare nor his team is the representative of the 125 crore people of the country.

Sharply reacting to Team Annas letter asking the Samajwadi Party to explain its position regarding any post-poll alliance with the Congress,partys national spokesperson Ram Gopal Yadav on Wednesday asked Anna Hazare under what authority his team was seeking an explanation.

In a letter,Yadav said that neither Hazare nor his team is the representative of the 125 crore people of the country. Being a political party,the SP is answerable to the people and not to an organisation formed by five people who themselves do not boast of impeccable character. Yadav said,If you are interested in political preaching or questions,then you can,no doubt,venture into politics.

He said that the SP was in agreement with the issue of corruption raised by Hazare,but his team had deviated from its path. This is the reason that people who stood with Team Anna during its Jantar Mantar and Ramlila Maidan protests turned their backs on the team during the protest in Mumbai.

Yadav reminded Hazare that it is Parliament that will form the law on Lokpal,as the people of the country have given Parliament that power.

He said Team Anna was questioning the SP about any future tie-ups with the Congress or BJP on the basis of rumours and conjectures,and rumours also have it that Team Anna members are corrupt,involved in embezzlement,and even used PILs to grab farmhouses.
