Lokayukta NK Mehrotra has asked Transport Minister Ram Achal Rajbhar to submit a detailed reply to the allegations of disproportionate assets and anomalies in the Transport Department, made by an advocate. The minister has been given time till December 21.
In his complaint, advcoate Anand Kumar Dwivedi has alleged that the minister facilitated the award of contracts for manufacturing low-floor buses under JNNURM to his favoured companies, and had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Responding to the allegations,Rajbhar had asked the Lokayukta to close the investigation, saying he was given clean chit by the Lokayukta administration in 2004 over a complaint making similar allegations. Rajbhar had also argued that the immovable properties which the complainant had alleged to have been acquired by him, were not owned by him.
The Lokayukta said that the complaint filed in 2004 contained different allegations and had no similarity with the allegations in current complaint. He asked Rajbhar to submit his detailed reply answering all allegations, including the details of immovable properties owned by his family members.
