A medical-store owner was thrashed by a group of people after he objected to the placement of a CCTV camera outside a womans house.
The victim has been identified as Sanjeev Gupta,resident of Morinda,and is currently admitted in Civil Hospital,Phase 6.
According to the police,Gupta had gone to visit his female friend in Sector 57,when he saw her neighbours trying to place a CCTV camera facing his friends house.
Gupta objected to it,but was only abused in return,following which he and his friend went inside her house.
When he came out after a while,the neighbours started beating him with weapons.
The accused have been identified as Surinder Sharma,his son Rajan,his daughter and wife and three to four unidentified persons.
All of them have been booked for causing hurt,wrongful restraint,criminal intimidation,and rioting with deadly weapons under Section 323,341,506,148,149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The matter is under investigation,the police said.
