Indo-Swiss training centre holds 48th convocation

The 48th Convocation of the Indo-Swiss Training Centre of CSIR-CSIO (Central Scientific Instruments Organization)

The 48th Convocation of the Indo-Swiss Training Centre of CSIR-CSIO (Central Scientific Instruments Organization),established in 1963 in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation for Technical Assistance,was held at CSIO auditorium on Friday.

“One should not rest on the past glory and laurels but should keep learning and updating the latest knowledge,” said Dr Girish Sahni,Director CSIO,Sector 30 and Director IMTECH,Sector 39.

According to R. C. Agnihotri,Principal of the ISTC,all the students,except those choosing higher education,have got placements in companies such as Slumberger Asia,Trident Group of Industries.

Agnihotri further said that in order to cater to the needs of the modern industry,latest machinery and equipment had been installed in the training centre with major structural changes and updation of the courses for the forthcoming session.

Graduating students were awarded Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas by Dr. Girish Sahni with prizes and medals being awarded to students who had excelled in various fields. 70 students graduated from the centre.

The Director’s gold medals were given to Arun Kumar Singh,Lakhwinder Singh and Ganesh Chand,while the Principal’s silver medals were given to Amit Kaushik,Kushlesh Singh and Shaeeny Singh.
