Combing operation continues in Narote

The combing operation to trace some infiltrators,who are reportedly still hiding in the Narote Jaimal Singh area of Gurdaspur district,continued on Tuesday. The police followed the tip offs regarding some suspicious elements’ movement in Bharwan and Jhadoli villages near Narote and carried out a major recce. The entire area was cordoned off .

“There were some reports about suspicious elements. We have intensified the search operation. We sealed the area and identification of villagers was carried out,” said Gurdaspur SSP Lok Nath Angra. He said the operation will stay in force for the next few days. DIG,Border Range,Parampal Singh Sidhu,said they were taking no chances and the police have spread a carpet of security in the entire area. The Border Security Force has already strengthened night vigil along the border.
