3 youths involved

The 20-year-old son of a senior Congress leader of Haryana,Kamal Chaudhary,was assaulted by three youths,among them the son of a UT police inspection,on Friday.

The 20-year-old son of a senior Congress leader of Haryana,Kamal Chaudhary,was assaulted by three youths,among them the son of a UT police inspection,on Friday. The incident occurred near the Sector 16 and Sector 23 roundabout in the evening. The injured Kamal Chaudhary,a Panchkula Sector 2 resident suffered injuries on the face. He is a BA final year student.

The accused youth have been identified as Tarminder Rana,son of a UT police inspector,Amit Rana and Lawrence Bishnoi. The police said the exact reason behind the incident could not be ascertained but apparently it is a case of road rage. Kamal was on his bike while the three were in their Opel Astra. After thrashing Kamal,the three fled in their car,but were caught by the traffic police at the Sector 17 and 22 dividing road. They were taken to the Sector-17 police station after it was found that they were fleeing away after assualting Kamal. The medical examination of Kamal Chaudhary has confirmed the injuries.

“A case of voluntarily causing hurt has been registered and investigations are on,” said Jaswinder Singh,SHO,Sector-17 police station. The three were not arrested when reports last came in.
