Amazon unveils Echo Pop, a compact Alexa-powered smart speaker
The new range of Echo devices includes the Pop, next-generation Echo Show 5 with a redesigned speaker system, Echo Show 5 Kids, Echo Buds, and a more compact Echo Auto.

Amazon has announced Echo Pop, a compact Alexa-powered smart speaker. The entry-level smart speaker is among the new Echo lineup announced Wednesday, including a next-generation Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 5 Kids, and pared-down Echo Buds.
It packs a 1.95 front-firing speaker, Eero WiFi support, and a built-in Alexa assistant into a semi-spherical design. Like every Echo device, Pop can stream music, send shopping notifications, and offers a host of smart features, and it can be controlled using the Alexa app. It comes in four colour variants – Charcoal, Glacier White, Lavender Bloom and Midnight Teal with a new design that is unlike any other Echo product that Amazon has launched so far. The Echo Pop is priced at $39.99 and is set for release on Wednesday, May 31.

Amazon also updated its most-popular smart display with a sleeker form factor. The new Echo Show 5 gets an adjustable stand accessory and the company has even announced an Echo Show 5 Kids with a galaxy design. Both variants are said to feature an improved speaker system that produces double the bass with clear sound when compared to the previous iteration.
The kid’s variant of the Echo Show 5 is further optimised to deliver kids-friendly responses with explicit lyric filtering and is said to be capable of helping with homework. Price slightly higher than the regular variant, the $99.99 costing Echo 5 Kids comes with a two-year worry-free guarantee, which also includes one year of Amazon Kids+, available in select markets.
Meanwhile, the new Echo Buds from Amazon cost $49.99 and these TWS style earbuds offer a semi in-ear design and are also sweat resistant. The earbuds are said to deliver 5 hours of music playback and when combined with the carry case, the buds can offer up to 20 hours of music playback and they also can connect to two devices simultaneously.
Lastly, the Echo Auto will now be available in more markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Japan. The new version is also much slimmer and includes five microphones for enhanced voice recognition.
