It was reported recently that Vidya Balan had a nervous breakdown of sorts on the streets of Kolkata where she’s shooting Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahani’ — touted as a desi ‘Kill Bill ‘ (a pregnant woman seeking revenge). Apparently Vidya who is grueling hard for this film as well as dubbing for ‘No One Killed Jessica’ snapped and had a crying jag in front of the crew.

A few weeks ago there was another incident involving Katrina Kaif. Cornered by the media to clarify Salman Khan’s alleged remark that they’ve broken up,she could not handle the heat and broke down in a press conference.

You’ve got to feel for the ladies. Being a Bollywood heroine is a tough job. The stakes are high and the shelf life very short. There are only that many films they can do with top heroes who anyways are on the look out for younger and newer heroines. Added to that, they have to constantly manage an image and also decide how they want to play their personal life.

There’s either the Bipasha Basu (BB) way of playing the personal life or the Katrina Kaif (KK) way. Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are in the BB category in the sense that they are open about their personal life read ex and current boyfriends. Those in the KK category never confess anything. Vidya too is a part of the KK club. They like to keep their private stuff zipped. Katrina never admitted to Salman so she doesn’t need to acknowledge the breakup too. Vidya too never came out and spoke about Shahid Kapoor. It’s just a theory but maybe the pressure to always keep it all under wraps got to Katrina and Vidya. It can happen to the best of us and these ladies are under constant public surveillance.

While on Katrina, the supergirl is back after the thumping success of ‘Raajneeti ‘in ‘Tees Maar Khan’. In a direct contrast from her saree clad ‘Raajneeti ‘look, she’s all glamed up to play a ditzy item girl in Farah Khan’s winter extravaganza. Just caught the teaser of ‘Shiela Ki Jawani ‘and Kat’s never looked so hawt. She’s toned, she’s mean and she’s got all the right moves. Farah bets this will be the item song of the year. She’s already given us ‘Munni Badnam Hui’ where Malaika Arora Khan’s Shakira styled thumkas brought the house down. I loved Munni. The combo of Malaika’s booty dance and Salman’s pelvic thrusts were pure paisa vasool. Now all eyes on Kat.
