This is with reference to the article I have never known fear that appeared in the last issue of Screen dated February 4.
The story on Sanjay Khan brought back my childhood memories. I remember vividly I was in class seven when The Sword Of Tipu Sultan would be aired on Sunday mornings. I would finish my homework and look forward to this historical.
In fact, even today the tune of the title-track is etched in my memory. The tele-series not only gave me an insight into the life of the legendary Tipu Sultan, about whom I had till then only read in my history text books, but also gave me an opportunity to see Sanjay Khans acting prowess on screen. Though I had seen the handsome actor romancing heroines while crooning melodious tunes like Maine pooncha chand se and Waadiyan mera daaman,I had never seen any of his films and hardly knew anything about his personal life.
Though his elder brother Feroz Khan was more flamboyant than him, there was something about Sanjay that always aroused my curiosity. Though I must admit I never tried to find out more about him, this story helped me understand the man behind the mask. Kudos to Screen for doing such an informative article!
