Tug sails for Kandla

The third tug, built by the Cochin Shipyard Limited with state-of-the-art technology for Kandla Port Trust, sailed from the yard on Monday. The tug, with a length of 32.90 m, is fitted with schottel steerable rudder propulsion units which incorporate modern technology for propulsion-cum-steering functions and is powered by two caterpillar engines of 1710 HP each. It is capable of 13.4 knots free running speed and has oil dispersant system to fight oil pollution at sea.
