
VADODARA, May 6: Three fair price shop operators were honoured with cash awards by District Collector Anil Mukim here at the collectorate on Thursday.
District Supply Officer D G Khachar said, operators of Narmada Juth Vividh Karyakari Sewa Mandali, Karjan, Muljibhai Shah, Waghodia and Arvind Shah of the Savli taluka were honoured with certificates and given a cash prize of Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000, respectively for maintaining proper supply and stock records. He said there were no complaints against them during the past several years.
Meanwhile, Khachar said his officials on Thursday inspected various Fair Price shops in the district and took action against one Raman C Jaria, who operates a shop in Sindhrot village, for irregularities in distribution of kerosene. Jaria is also accused of not giving kerosene to as many as 12 card-holders.
During another raid, officials inspected several shops in the Chokhandi area and seized edible oil worth more than Rs 56,000 from the shop of one Indravadan Mohanlal Gandhi. Khachar said samples of the edible oil had also been sent to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation laboratory to check it8217;s quality.
