MUMBAI, JAN 24: In the absence of Prahlad Srinath, nursing a leg injury, Syed Fazaluddin will head India8217;s challenge in the 10,000 Gold Flake Aces ITF Futures tournament. Fazaluddin, fourth-highest Indian in the ATP rankings at 517, Vinod Sridhar 801, Harsh Mankad 856 and Vijay Kannan 874 were spared the embarrassment of the qualifying rounds, one of the few benefits of belonging to the host nation.

Youngster Neel Patel had a good day winning both his matches in the final qualifying round of the 7-Up State Ranking Tennis Tournament being played at the Garden Tennis Academy, Azad Maidan here today.
He won against Harsh Mehta 8-3 in the under-16 section and beat R Bhotica by the same margin in the under-14 section also.
