While the Left is leaving no opportunity to arm-twist the UPA Government, the other allies are making the most of the situation. The DMK is happily warming up to the Congress, especially its president. So Sonia Gandhi will be conferred a doctorate by Madras University next month at its 150th anniversary. Incidentally, university Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandran heads the Environment Monitoring Committee of the Sethusamudram project that DMK leader and Union Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister T R Baalu has been defending strongly. And, Baalu8212;an alumnus of the university8212;will fly to the city for the special occasion.
