Chandigarh, June 15: City Traffic Police organised a Cyclist Protection Camp today at the Sector 20 Labour Chowk during which the cycles were fitted with reflectors. Nearly 2,000 cyclists were provided reflectors 8212; sponsored by a telecom company, said a police official.
A Traffic Police official said that cycle reflectors were meant to reduce road accidents as they would serve as a quot;mini-lightquot;, enabling drivers of other vehicles to spot the cycles from a distance at night, and will help prevent accidents.
During the camp, cyclists were also educated on various traffic rules.
