CHANDIGARH, July 17: Haryana Lok Dal Rashtriya president and leader of the Opposition in state Vidhan Sabha Om Parkash Chautala has criticised the move of the Haryana Government of ending the affiliation of engineering and technical colleges from Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar.

In a statement issued here today, Chautala charged the ruling HVP-BJP alliance in the state with taking decisions on matters pertaining to the welfare of the public on political grounds8217;.

The former Chief Minister added that by transferring the affiliation of 17 engineering and technical institutes to MDU, Rohtak, the government has threatened the very existence of Guru Jambheshwar University, which was aimed at developing the technical and engineering faculties in the state.

Chautala also demanded the immediate resignation of Haryana8217;s Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, for bringing a technical university to the brink of existence. Demanding the restoration of original status to GJU, Hisar, he has also threatened of serious consequences in case the same is not done.
