ReliEf for farmers: The Parkash Singh Badal government announced relief of Rs 2 lakh each and government jobs to families of farmers who had committed suicide due to indebtedness.
Major Reshuffle: In the second reshuffle within nine days, as many as 21 IAS and six PCS officers were shifted across the state. The Government also appointed Harcharan Singh Bains as Media Adviser to the CM. He has also been given the rank of a Minister of State. Deputy Commissioners of Fatehgarh Sahib, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Patiala, Muktsar, Barnala, Mansa and Moga have been transferred.
