Two police constables attacked, four held

The police station had received complaint of some men creating ruckus in front of the Tamasha stage.

Two police constables were injured after they were attacked by some drunk men near a Tamasha — folk dance stage in a village fair at Nandgaon village in Yewat in the early hours of Sunday. Police had gone there after complaints of the men creating ruckus in front of the stage.

As per the information given by Yewat police, the incident took place at 1.30 am when constables Pradeep Jadhav and Santosh Pandit went to the fair at Rasai Devi Temple in Nandgaon village. The police station had received complaint of some men creating ruckus in front of the Tamasha stage.

Assistant inspector R J Patil of Yewat police station said, “The people who were creating ruckus, were drunk and attacked our constables. Both have sustained injuries on head. We have arrested four suspects.” The arrested suspects have been identified as Nilesh Gund, Deepak Khaladkar, Deepak Kale and Gotya Gadhave.
