Rupee falling,petrol to cost more in city

Cost of petrol in the city has been increased by about Rs 2.2 per litre. Petrol will now cost Rs 77.25 per litre and Power petrol Rs 86.75 per litre in Pune. The earlier price is Rs 74.97 per litre (Power petrol Rs 84.52 per litre). As falling rupee made imports costlier,oil companies increased petrol prices. The new prices will be effective from midnight,said Ali Daruwala,spokesperson of Pune Petrol Dealer’s Association.

Helpline number faces duty chaos

Officials at the helpline number announced by the Minister for Minority Affairs Naseem Khan to register complaints related to admissions seem to be unaware of their duties as they keep diverting calls from anxious parents and students to various departments in the Minority Commission office.

2 get life term,2 acquitted in murder case

ADDITIONAL Sessions Judge V K Shewale on Friday sentenced two to life imprisonment in a 2011 murder case. The court acquitted two others. Shewale convicted Ramdas Baban Marne of Marnewadi and Raju Sahadu Shedge of Shedgewadi,for murdering Barku Chafaji Marne (67).
