7 held for Cong worker’s murder

The Hadapsar police have arrested seven persons in connection with the Congress worker Prakash Anna Narayan Jondhale’s (46) murder. Following a past rivalry,the suspects had allegedly attacked Jondhale with sharp weapons in Gondhale Nagar area of Hadapsar around 10.45 pm on Monday.

The suspects have been identified as Viki Jadhav,Vaibhav Bhadale,Akshay Ingulkar,Shrikant Atole,Rahul Kavle,Amol Shegde,Suraj Phadke,all residents of Gondhale Nagar in Hadapsar

Jondhale,also a resident of Gondhale Nagar,was on his way home on his motorcycle when the suspects on their bikes intercepted him and attacked him with weapons,causing his death.

Police said about 15 days ago the suspects had picked up a fight with Jondhale following which cross complaints were lodged at the Hadapsar police station.

Senior police inspector Raghunath Jadhav is investigating the case.
