Long before Hollywood danced to the tune of Swan Lake,the ballet had been immortalised by Russias Bolshoi Ballet. Now,Bolshoi Theatre of Russia brings the story of Princess Odette to NCPA. The performance,held in association with Pathe Live (Paris),will take place at the Dance Theatre Godrej,on April 15 and 22.

During her 18 years in India,French photographer Magali Couffon de Trevros travelled to Orissa to explore indigenous tribes. Her exhibition at Alliance Francaise,titled Tribal Lights,explores faces of people from Orissa. The show will be held at Gallerie Romain Rolland,Alliance Française,from April 19 to May 11.

V for Vengeance
In Sympathy for Lady Vengeance,a woman is released from prison for a murder she didnt commit. Made by celebrated South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook,the film will be be screened at Korean Cultural Centre,25A Ring Road,on April 26.

Chasing Tagore
How would a psychologist look at art? Psychologist and writer Dr Sudhir Kakar explores the works of Rabindranath Tagore in a lecture titled A Creative Melancholy: The Paintings of Rabindranath Tagore. Organised by Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi,the event will be held at the Auditorium,Government Museum & Art Gallery,on April 29.

The city’s oldest theatre group,Abhinet,will explore varied emotional upheavals through their productions Money Order,written by Kailash Ahluwalia,and Handi Meat,which is inspired by a story by Naresh Pandit. Directed by Vijay Kapoor,both plays will be staged at Tagore Theatre,Sector 18,on April 19 and passes can be collected from the venue.

What makes a great city its skyline and twinkling lights or the meandering cars? Take a look at Indrani Dwaras perspective of a city in Metropolis,her solo at Bliss Art Gallery. Her works capture the beauty of a city through images such as the lights at night and a train approaching a station. The show will be held till April 19.
