Tension prevailed in Shivpuri area on Thursday morning when a team from building branch of the Municipal Corporation reached there to help one Sunil Kumar Jain in getting possession of 900 square yards of plot. The man in question had won his case in the court and MC had been told to help him in getting possession of the area.

Interestingly,assistant town planners (ATPs) from all the zones went to the site along with the joint commissioner-cum-duty magistrate Mohinder Pal Gupta,but Jain never turned up at the site.

As a temple and a graveyard for infants is situated in the area,the area residents gathered at the site and started protesting against the MC move and told the MC team to go back.

Meanwhile the ATPs made announcements on loudspeakers a number of times calling out Jain. They waited for him till 1 p.m and when he did not turn up they went back. The residents meanwhile also staged a dharna outside the temple site. Assistant town planners S.S Bindra,H.S Ghai,Ramesh Chabra and Kanwaljit Kaur were present at the spot.

As per the area residents,Jain was making false claims about his ownership of the land and they even threatened the team of dire consequences if anything happened to the temple and graveyard,which they said,were existing at the site for the past many years. The team,which had gone with full police force to avoid any untoward incident, meanwhile came back empty-handed.
