Convocation for the sessions 2006-07 and 2007-8 was held in the college auditorium of Ramgarhia Girls College here today. SS Channi,Principal Secretary,Industries and Commerce,Punjab,presided over the function. Inderjit Singh Pardhan,Chairman,Punjab Industries and Development Board,was the guest of honour.
Over 600 graduate and post-graduate students from the Arts,Commerce and Computer Sciences streams were given their degrees at the convocation. Students rejoiced after receiving their hard-earned laurels.
Sixteen students were entered in the college roll of honour for their scintillating success in the field of academics,cultural activities and sports. Sharer Kaur and Arshpreet Kaur from MA (music vocal) made a mark on the national scene when they bagged the first and second prizes in classical vocal and ghazal singing,respectively,at the National Inter-University Youth Festival held at Midnapore,West Bengal,in early 2009.
Principal Jasbir Kaur congratulated the students for their achievements and wished them success in future.
Meanwhile annual almuni meet was also held on Wednesday where old students shared their experiences after leaving the college.
