Mega Trends triumph

Mega Trends Club registered a comprehensive eight wicket victory against Arya Cricket Academy in their quarter-final match of the Shivesh Majumdar Memorial Cricket Tournament at Pt. RB Tiwari Stadium,Lucknow on Monday.

Batting first,Arya Cricket Academy was all out at a total of 104 runs in 26.2 overs in the 35 overs-a-side match due to an accurate bowling by most of the Mega Trends bowlers. M Aamir claimed three wickets while Pawan Yadav and Shahbaz Khan took two wickets each.

In reply,Mega Trends was able to attain the set mark in 19 overs with eight wickets to spare. Amit Chopra (24 not out),Rahul Sachan (23) and Prashant Singh (23) were the main run-getters. Akhilesh Yadav and Shalabh Singh claimed apiece each.

UP swimmers shine

UP swimmers bagged six medals in the 55th National School Games aquatic meet held at Kolkata from October 21 to 25. Secretary UP Swimming Association (UPSA) Ravin Kapoor informed that UP’s Anjani Kumar Mishra bagged a silver in 50m breast stroke and bronze medals in the 100m breast stroke and the 200m breast stroke events in the under-19 category.

In the under-14 category,UP’s Ram Janam Yadav stood second in the 50m freestyle and the 100m freestyle events. Abhishek Tiwari claimed a silver in high board diving in the U-14 category.
