I.V Sasi, who has more than 150 movies to his credit, died on Tuesday morning, at the age of 69. As per early reports, he breathed his last at his residence in Chennai. Sasi has been called a revolutionary filmmaker who brought several new aspects to filmmaking during his three decade long career.

Period drama Maamaankam will shed light on the life of Chaaverukal of Valluvanadu, who plotted to overthrow the Samoothiri rulers of the land. The movie will be helmed by debutant Sajeev Pillai, who has also written the screenplay after 12 years of research.
